Why are Mormons so healthy?

The members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) are generally known for their healthy lifestyle and habits, but it's not accurate to make sweeping generalizations about all members being healthy.

However, the church does promote healthy habits and lifestyle choices, including:

  1. Diet: The LDS Church encourages its members to follow a healthy diet (Word of Wisdom) that includes whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, and to avoid excessive sugar, caffeine, and alcohol.

  2. Exercise: The LDS Church encourages physical activity and exercise as a way to maintain good health.

  3. No Smoking or Drinking: The LDS Church teaches its members to avoid smoking, the use of illegal drugs, and excessive drinking.

  4. Avoiding Harmful Habits: The LDS Church teaches its members to avoid habits that can harm their health, such as overeating, overuse of prescription drugs, and other harmful behaviors.

  5. Mental Health: The LDS Church emphasizes the importance of taking care of one's mental and emotional health and encourages its members to seek help if they are struggling with mental health issues.

These are some of the reasons why members of the LDS Church may be seen as being healthier than the general population. However, it's important to remember that individual members may make different choices and that health is influenced by many factors, including genetics and personal habits.
