New Young Men (Aaronic Priesthood) Theme

During a Face to Face event outlining the new Children and Youth program on November 17, Brother Stephen W. Owen, Young Men General President, invited young men around the world to stand and recite the new Aaronic Priesthood quorum theme : I am a beloved son of God, and He has a work for me to do. With all my heart, might, mind, and strength, I will love God, keep my covenants, and use His priesthood to serve others, beginning in my own home. As I strive to serve, exercise faith, repent, and improve each day, I will qualify to receive temple blessings and the enduring joy of the gospel. I will prepare to become a diligent missionary, loyal husband, and loving father by being a true disciple of Jesus Christ. I will help prepare the world for the Savior’s return by inviting all to come unto Christ and receive the blessings of His Atonement.

Changes to the Youth Programs

Young Men presidencies (adult males who lead young men) at the ward level are now discontinued so local bishops can more directly lead and mentor youth. In their responsibilities with youth, bishoprics will be assisted by adult men serving as Aaronic Priesthood quorum advisers and specialists and Young Women leaders. Young Men presidencies will continue at the general and stake levels of Church governance. A member of each stake high council will serve as stake Young Men president. Another member of the stake high council will serve as the stake Sunday School president. A congregation’s bishopric youth committee meeting will be replaced by a ward youth council. The word “Mutual” will be retired and become “Young Women activities,” “Aaronic Priesthood quorum activities,” or “youth activities.” The ward budget for youth activities will be divided equitably between the young men and young women according to the number of youth in each organization. At all levels—ward, stake, and g

New Young Women Theme

I am a beloved daughter of Heavenly Parents, with a divine nature and eternal destiny.  As a disciple of Jesus Christ, I strive to become like Him. I seek and act upon personal revelation and minister to others in His holy name. I will stand as a witness of God at all times and in all things and in all places. As I strive to qualify for exaltation, I cherish the gift of repentance and seek to improve each day. With faith, I will strengthen my home and family, make and keep sacred covenants, and receive the ordinances and blessings of the holy temple. __________ The new Young Women Theme was announced by Sister Bonnie H. Cordon, Young Women General President
